If
you are going to be maintaining a large yard and garden, a lawn or garden
tractor will save you hours or back breaking labor. Tractors usually
support a wide range of attachments, allowing them to perform tasks
such as mowing, tilling, digging, hauling and any number of other tasks.
Like all tools, if used improperly a garden tractor can be dangerous
or even deadly, but when used correctly and safely will make your lawn
and garden care much easier. Keep in mind these safety tips when operating
your tractor:
• Be careful around hills and slopes. Many tractors have a higher
center of gravity than it may appear and will roll easily on a slope
- when mowing, go up and down the hill, not sideways. If you feel the
tractor becoming unstable, steer down the hill – not up.
•Do not operate the tractor around children or carry a passenger,
either on the cart or the main body of the tractor itself.
•Do not park the tractor on a hill or leave the tractor with the
engine running.
Follow these and all other safety guidelines and your garden tractor
can provide you many years of service.
