As any professional chef will tell you, fresh herbs are the secret to great cuisine. Dried herbs, common to the local grocers, can be alright; but nothing adds the same splash of flavor as the freshly picked variety. For this reason, many amateur chefs maintain their own herb garden.
An herb garden can be grown in a number of different ways. There are kits available that allow you to build a sort of miniature greenhouse, which is a very effective method. Like a greenhouse, these kits require sunlight (or a quality artificial light source) in order to be functional.
Another method for growing an herb garden is though a series of “stackers”. These systems are essentially a central hub that can hold a series of pots together. Occasionally, these are actually one solid unit with several outcroppings that allow multiple plantings.
