Garden and lawn care
Gardening
is at once a hobby, an art, and a chore. There are few other things
in life that can fill all three of these categories quite as aptly as
gardening can! Of course, by keeping good care of your garden all the
year through, you can be sure that your garden remains more of a hobby
and an art and less of a chore.
First of all, there is a big difference between gardening and yardwork:
yardwork is almost always a chore! Gardening only becomes a chore when
it has not been kept up, when the weeds are as tall as the Empire State
Building and your ivy has begun to strangle your favorite pine tree.
Everyone wants to have a beautiful garden. After all, a beautiful garden
can make your entire home look more beautiful, and it is a lovely place
to spend the day and to commune with nature. To have a beautiful garden,
though, you must keep it up, and to keep it up, you must have excellent
gardening tools (as well as the right attitude and the right knowledge).
Keeping up a garden is a wonderful hobby. Whereas someone who paints
as a hobby likely has a variety of different sized paintbrushes and
different colors of paint, someone who gardens as a hobby should have
a variety of garden tools and different types of seeds and bulbs and
flowers and plants.
Every yard is like a canvas, and the flowers and plants that you plant
and seeds that you sow are like the paint. The gardening tools that
you use to do this are like your paintbrushes. Popular garden hand tools
are hand hoes, cultivators, trowels, widgers, dibbers, bulb planters,
hand rakes, shovels, and spades.
The list of garden hand tools can go on and on. Which types of gardening
hand tools that you use depends entirely on what type of gardening you
like to do, how large your garden is, and how you personally prefer
to do things. Some people can get by with just a cultivator, spade,
and shovel! Most people, though, prefer a few extra garden supplies.
Of course, no matter how many gardening tools that you use, you are
most certainly going to want a place to keep them… a place to
organize them and store them away. A gardening caddy is perfect for
this: consider it to be your art palette, so to speak.
Besides gardening tools, you may choose to keep in your garden caddy
a few other gardening supplies like some good pairs of gardening gloves
and a kneeling pad. Both of these things will make your time spent gardening
much more comfortable and easier.
We have set up this website, Garden Mag, to help you learn more about
gardening. This website is informational only: we do not sell anything.
We are simply here to provide you with news and articles on gardening
and garden supplies, etc. We want to help you learn enough about gardening
so that you can stop it from being a chore, and turn it into more of
a hobby and an art.
Pond Supplies
Believe it or not, a pond is not that difficult to take care of. If
you have a pond, you may be pleasantly surprised at its beauty, style
and elegance, without having to deal with worry constant and special
care.
