Rock gardens

Rock gardens can be very beautiful and very easy to take care
of. There are a few things that you should consider when creating
your rock garden. First of all, where should you put it? If you
already have a rocky area in your yard where it is difficult to
grow things, then you have the perfect place for a rock garden.
Any area that does not get much water is also a great place for
a rock garden – think xeriscape.
When “planting” a rock garden, you should also consider
color. There are many different colors of rocks – red ones,
black ones, yellow and white, etc. Think of what type and color
of rock you most like, and then think of plants that will compliment
that color. Think of plants that are drought tolerant, as well.
One of the beautiful things about a rock garden is that it is relatively
easy to maintain. A rock garden requires much less weeding than
other gardens. Also, you may even want to consider having a rock
garden that is composed entirely of rocks, no plants. This type
of rock garden never needs to be watered and will rarely need to
be weeded!
